Booking an Appointment
Please phone the surgery on 01-8416000 to make an appointment. Our lines are extremely busy from 9.00 am to 10.30 so please be patient with us.
We run all of our clinics by appointment only, each appointment is of 15 minutes duration. We do not run a walk-in clinic.
We can only see one patient per booked appointment slot so please make sure to book in any extra family members that may need to be seen before arriving in the surgery.
We do our best to run our clinics on time, however occasionally things arise that are out of our control and cause us to get delayed.
We really value your patience and understanding on these occasions.
Acute/Urgent Medical Care Clinic
Our acute/urgent medical care clinic is available Monday to Friday during our standard opening hours.
We understand how worrying it can be when you, or a family member, falls ill with an acute/urgent illness. Our acute/urgent medical care clinic ensures that with a same-day medical consultation, you can access the medical support you need, when you need it.
We offer an acute/urgent medical care clinic which allows patients to quickly access assessment and treatment for new medical problems or new exacerbations of chronic illnesses. To allow your doctor to quickly see and treat a large number of patients we kindly ask for your cooperation in the smooth running of this clinic. Your appointment is for one problem only and for a maximum of ten minutes.
In the Acute/Urgent Care Clinic you will see the doctor on duty, who may not be the doctor who provides your usual care. The doctor will see patients in order of arrival and clinical priority. We will do our utmost to see you promptly but there may be a short wait.
Unfortunately, the doctor will not be able to provide help with repeat prescriptions, ongoing medical problems, any kind of paperwork, medical issues concerning other family members or anything not of a medically urgent nature.
However, should you have other issues you would like to discuss with a doctor, please contact our reception to make a separate appointment to speak with a GP.
Emergencies
There is always a facility for care of medical emergencies, should you feel you fall into this category please let reception know when calling and we will endeavour to get you seen in the surgery without an appointment. However, as this is an emergency appointment your choice of doctor will not be possible and only the emergency issue can be dealt with at this time. This service is not available for routine medical issues.
Outside of surgery hours, please contact DDOC on 0818 22 44 76, or in an emergency call 999.
Cancelling an Appointment
We do our very best to accommodate patients with timely medical consultations however we do need your help! If you cannot make your appointment, please let us know so we can allocate your appointment to another patient in need.
