Dr John Ferguson MB BCh BAO MICGP B Med Sci
General Practitioner

Dr. John Ferguson studied medicine at University College Dublin and graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Surgery and Obstetrics and Bachelor of Medical Science. He then went on to complete his GP training graduating from the Trinity GP Training Scheme in 2002. This training included working in the hospital settings at the Mater, St. Columcilles Loughlinstown, Navan General, Temple Street, St. Patricks, St. James, and Tallaght.

Following GP training John worked as a GP assistant in Skerries before he co-founded the Bracken Clinic on Dublin Street in Balbriggan in June 2005. This later became the Bracken Family Practice in the summer of 2017 with the move to our new premises.

John’s professional interests include general health, paediatrics, preventative medicine, men’s health, mental health and managing methadone patients. John also holds a Diploma in Practice Management and was a board member and treasurer in Nurture Health from 2015-2018. Nurture provides comprehensive counselling services to women pre, during and post pregnancy.

In his spare time, John enjoys golf and is a member of Skerries Golf Club where he has played since his teens. He enjoys watching all sports but especially soccer, golf and rugby.

Dr Yvonne Sayers MB BCh BAO MICGP DME DCP
General Practitioner

Dr Yvonne Sayers joined the Bracken Family Practice in 2016. Originally from Kerry, she graduated from the National University of Ireland Galway in 2000 and completed her vocational training in general practice in the Donegal General Practice training scheme. In 2005, she was fortunate to work in a rural surgery in Victoria, Australia for several months.  This experience was of immense benefit to her both professionally and personally, while also providing her with deep insight into working in a different health care system.

Yvonne enjoys every aspect of her role as a general practitioner.  Her special interests are in the areas of women’s health, family planning, contraception, she inserts both coils and implanon devices, paediatrics, preventative medicine and mental health. In addition to holding a Bachelor of Medicine, of Surgery and of Obstetrics, Yvonne also holds a Diploma in Clinical Psychology, a Certificate in Family Planning, a Diploma in Medicine of the Elderly and a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences (Clinical Primary Care). She is also a member of the specialist division of the Irish College of General Practitioners.

In her spare time, when she is not busy running after her three children, Yvonne enjoys the theatre, music, exercise and watching any type of sport.  She is also a fluent Irish speaker.

Dr Vladimir Viera Posada MB BCh MIMC PhD BAO
General Practitioner

Dr Vladimir Viera Posada graduated as a doctor in medicine from his native country Cuba. He spent a few years working as GP in South America and Europe  before he settled in Spain to complete his post-graduate studies in Oviedo, Spain.  Vladimir came to Ireland in 2014.

He gained experience by working as a General practitioner over four years in The Plaza Clinic, Swords. His main interest is general health, paediatrics, preventative medicine, men’s health and  mental health.

He would like his future patients to benefit from his clinical expertise and he would hope to build on what he has learned to date in his career in general practice.

Martyn Robert Mulry
Hearing Aid Audiologist

Martin is dedicated to making a positive improvement in his patient’s lives through better hearing. As a Hearing Aid Audiologist, Martin provides patients with services such as hearing tests (including hearing tests for employment purposes), tympanometry (middle ear testing), microsuction (wax removal) and hearing protection devices. He offers patients expert advice to identify the right hearing aid for their needs, and also fits and services hearing devices.

Martin offers specialist expertise in testing and analysing hearing issues and is the first port of call for patients with concerns about their hearing. He provides tailored solutions for a variety of hearing conditions alongside referrals for further investigation and treatment when required.

Prior to joining the Bracken Family Practice, Martin was a Branch Manager for a large multi-national hearing company. He holds a degree in Hearing Aid Audiology FdSc HAA from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge and is a member of the Irish Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists (ISHAA).
